Winston Inouye is a native Idahoan with over 20 years of experience in all aspects of business and public policy, including regulatory affairs, business development, business to business and business to government relations. He believes that healthy relationships with customers and clients, coupled with a smart strategic outlook in any market, is the key to success.
Winston believes that awareness of both internal and external factors are a must for continual improvement. Winston has a vast knowledge of issues relating to transportation, economic development, agricultural, bioenergy and agricultural sectors. Previously he held positions as Manager of Global Strategy & Business Development for Watco Companies, a logistics company with rail, shipping and multi-modal assets in two continents and several different countries and as Director of Business Development and Government Relations with ITR, a biotech company, that installed over $28M of bio-methane assets in the Pacific Northwest and ultimately participated in mergers and acquisitions, leading to a public offering.
Winston currently serves as Director of Business Development for food, beverage & agriculture at McAlvain Companies a premier construction and construction management company in the Western United States. Winston grew up in Southern Idaho, working in the family agri-business operation, a diverse agricultural operation that included row crop production in two states, a small fresh packing operation in Nebraska and a commodities transportation business. Growing up in this environment, Inouye knows and is committed to building valuable and long-lasting relationships that create long term value for clients.
In addition, Inouye currently serves as Chairman of the Idaho Freight Advisory Committee, Executive Director of the Mini-Cassia Commerce Authority, and is on the Philanthropy Committee of the Idaho Red Cross. He earned his A.A. in economics from The College of Southern Idaho, a B.A. in management from Ashford and M.A. in management from the Forbes School of Business, with additional graduate work at Gonzaga University. Inouye is active in his church and local community and resides in Meridian, Idaho with his wife and three children, where they enjoy skiing, hunting, fishing, hunting and watching their kids' sports teams.
