Most recently, Mr. Giles founded and managed the Giles Group LLC, a government affairs, public policy, and communications firm based in Boise, Idaho. Two of his signature clients included, Learning.com, a Portland-based curriculum and assessment provider, and AlertSense, a Boise-based mass notification provider.
Prior to founding his own firm, Mr. Giles worked for one of Idaho’s and the world’s largest engineering and construction firms, URS (now known as AECOM and previously known as Washington Group International and Morrison Knudsen Corporation) as a Government Affairs Manager and as a Senior Marketing and Planning Manager.
Mr. Giles also worked as a Policy Advisor to Idaho Governor Dirk Kempthorne, where he was the Governor’s lead staffer on the successful effort to develop and enact the “Connecting Idaho” initiative, which has invested nearly $1 billion in Grant Anticipation Revenue Vehicle (GARVEE) bonds in new highway improvements throughout the state of Idaho.
Before returning to his home state of Idaho to work for Governor Kempthorne, Mr. Giles spent over ten years developing his government affairs skills working in the nation’s capitol, Washington, D.C. He worked on Capitol Hill for Idaho’s U.S. Senators Dirk Kempthorne and Mike Crapo. In addition, Mr. Giles served as the Deputy Director of the State of New Jersey’s Washington, D.C. Office and as the Senior Transportation Analyst for the Coalition of Northeastern Governors (CONEG).
Mr. Giles holds a Juris Doctorate from Howard University in Washington, D.C. and a Bachelor’s of Business Administration from Boise State University in Boise, Idaho. He passed the Idaho State Bar Exam in 1994. Mr. Giles lives in Boise with his wife and daughter.
