Taking the lobbying lead with numerous Eiguren Ellis initiatives, Lance is in daily contact with government officials and their staffs providing consistent and effective advocacy for our clients. Over his career Lance has built excellent relationships in government and other sectors by offering trustworthy information, wise input, and forthright communication. He thus enjoys access on both sides of the aisle, enabling him to effectively advocate issues and monitor legislation.
Previously, Lance Giles founded and managed the Giles Group LLC, a government affairs, public policy, and communications firm based in Boise, Idaho. Two of his signature clients included, Learning.com, a Portland-based curriculum and assessment provider, and AlertSense, a Boise-based mass notification provider. He also worked as Government Affairs Manager and as Senior Marketing and Planning Manager for URS (now known as AECOM and previously known as Washington Group International and Morrison Knudsen Corporation), one of Idaho’s and the world’s largest engineering and construction firms.
In the public sector, Lance served as a Policy Advisor to Idaho Governor Dirk Kempthorne. He was the Governor’s lead staffer on the successful effort to develop and enact the “Connecting Idaho” initiative, which has invested nearly $1 billion in Grant Anticipation Revenue Vehicle (GARVEE) bonds in new highway improvements throughout the state of Idaho.
Lance spent more than ten years developing his government affairs skills working in Washington, D.C. for Idaho’s U.S. Senators Dirk Kempthorne and Mike Crapo. He also served as the Deputy Director of the State of New Jersey’s Washington, D.C. Office and as the Senior Transportation Analyst for the Coalition of Northeastern Governors (CONEG).
Lance holds a Juris Doctorate from Howard University in Washington, D.C. and a Bachelor’s of Business Administration from Boise State University. He passed the Idaho State Bar Exam in 1994. Mr. Giles resides in Boise with his wife and daughter.
